What I collect, and what I don't.
This site is deliberately simple, so this page is short. It describes exactly what happens to your information, in plain English.

01
What this site collects on its own
Nothing. There are no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising tags, and no cookies set by this site. You can browse it without being counted or profiled. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which keeps standard server logs (things like IP address and which page was requested) for a short period for security and reliability. That is Cloudflare's normal infrastructure logging, and I don't use it to build any picture of who you are.

02
What I collect when you get in touch
Only what you choose to send me. The contact links on this site open your own email client, so what I receive is your name, your email address, and whatever you write in the message. There's no contact form quietly capturing anything else, no newsletter sign-up, and no accounts to create.
-
03
Why I hold it
To reply to you, and to have the context of our conversation if we go on to work together. That's the whole purpose. I won't add you to a mailing list or send you anything you didn't ask for.
-
04
How long I keep it
If we don't end up working together, I delete the correspondence within about 12 months. If we do, I keep project-related correspondence for 6 years after the work finishes, because UK tax and accounting rules require business records to be retained for that long. After that it's deleted.

05
Who else sees it
Nobody. I don't sell your data, share it with third parties, or pass it to advertisers. The only companies that technically touch it are the ones running the infrastructure I use to receive email and host this site, and they process it on my behalf rather than using it for their own purposes. Atelo is a one-person business, so in practice the only person reading your message is me.

06
Your rights, and how to use them
Under UK GDPR you can ask me what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask me to delete it. Email me and I'll action it, normally within a few days and at no cost. If you're ever unhappy with how I've handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Questions about your data?
Ask me directly and I'll give you a straight answer. This is the right address for any data or privacy question.
